Phonebook 2.0

Voxmobili launches Phonebook 2.0, its mobile address book solution on the Android market. Voxmobili is a leader in synchronization and management of mobile personal data located in Paris. Voxmobili is a separate entity of the OnMobile Group, leader in Mobile Value Added Services in Asia.

Building upon the award winning* mobile address book solution, phonebook 2.0 Voxmobili has gathered end-users feedback from the android market and used it to develop new innovative core features listed below. Phonebook 2.0 Lite is now available to download from the android market http://market.android.com/details?id=com.voxmobili.phonebook2

  • Contact data security

Phonebook 2.0 synchronizes, backs up and restores contacts and all data elements related to them allowing the end-user to retrieve this valuable contact information if the handset is either lost or stolen.

  • Social Network management

Phonebook 2.0 creates a mobile social network, connecting end users directly to their contacts via instant messaging & social networks, such as twitter, facebook, linkedin...

  • Presence

End users can set and publish their presence informing others of their availability and willingness to communicate. Presence makes it easy to see which of their Phonebook 2.0 contacts are online/offline or busy. Unregistered users can be invited to join the Phonebook 2.0 application.

  • Real time chat

Integrated with several different social networks (msn, google talk, yahoo...), the chat function in Phonebook 2.0 enables end-users to chat in real time with their buddies and family using their mobile.

  • Contextual information

The unified User Interface allows end-users to update and receive all their Social Network status in one place. End users can access previous feeds, (missed call, SMS, social network events, email, birthday reminder...) at any time as they are visible for each contact and appear in the rich aggregated view.

“Phonebook 2.0 is a step up from the Phonebook solution that won the Android Google challenge in 2007. Unlike in 2007, the market is now mature and technology now ready. Phonebook 2.0 is compatible with all industry standards and is currently available on Android market. The application will be available for iphone and other mobile platforms shortly” said Eric Viellevigne, Founder of Voxmobili.

Phonebook 2.0 is not limited to the Android platform. Releases for iphone, Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms are on the product roadmap for 2010. Like most of the products marketed by Voxmobili, Phonebook 2.0 is a white label product and as such is sold directly to mobile operators. Knowing this, operators are capable of offering end users a completely customized product, and the opportunity to gain a competitive advantage.
