MobilCom selects Voxmobili to deliver first services for its new multi-access portal mstreet
Voxmobili, a multi-access software and solutions company, today announced that MobilCom, a leading German telecom operator for fixed, mobile and Internet services, will use Voxmobili solutions.

MobilCom recently won a successful bid for the UMTS license in Germany. To prepare for its upcoming new mobile services, MobilCom is launching a new multi-access portal. To be called mstreet, it will be one of the first multi-access portals to be available for German consumers and SMEs.

For this major project, MobilCom selected Voxmobili to build several of the first services to be available. The features developed by Voxmobili to enhance the daily life of MobilCom subscribers are the following : a truly mobile organizer, SMS alerts linked with an online calendar, a task reminder, an interactive address book, a synchronization module and other services to better communicate and share information.

This " personal suite " of integrated multi-access applications is also to be used internally by MobilCom employees.

MobilCom selected Voxmobili for 2 major reasons:
Firstly because Voxmobili solutions answer the marketing challenges of MobilCom multi-access strategy. By connecting to mstreet, a MobilCom subscriber will have permanent and user-friendly access to his personal information through any PC or WAP phone, increasing his brand loyalty.

Secondly, Voxmobili's proven technologies suit the needs of MobilCom to provide the best service possible to its subscribers. The Java platform solution from Voxmobili is built to support hundreds of thousands users. Voxmobili software is hosted inside MobilCom's technical infrastructure to ensure tight integration and easy customization.

" The choice of our solutions by MobilCom is an opportunity for us to work on a promising multi-access portal for Germany " stated Nicolas Frattaroli, President of Voxmobili. " Voxmobili is working closely with MobilCom teams as they are working on our customizable software platform to design and launch innovative services "

MobilCom has announced the launch of the mstreet multi-access portal at CEBIT in Hannover.

About MobilCom
Founded by Gerhard Schmid in 1991, MobilCom was noted as one of the first companies on the Neuer Markt of the Frankfurt stock exchange in 1997. Since it has been listed on the Nemax, MobilCom has been heading on a steady growth course. The takeovers of the Krefeld network service provider topnet and the mobile communications service provider Cellway in 1998 were followed in 1999 by the acquisitions of the largest German-speaking Internet search machine DINO-Online, the Erfurt telecommunications enterprise TelePassport, the service provider D-Plus and by a majority holding in the comtech computer chain.
A further milestone of the year 1999 was the going public in December of the Internet subsidiary freenet.de on the Neuer Markt in Frankfurt.
The year 2000 has revolved completely around UMTS. In April, MobilCom and France Télécom set up the Joint Venture MobilCom Multimedia GmbH with equal shares. In August the company purchased 2 x 5 MHz frequency blocks for DM 16.37b at the UMTS auction. In October MobilCom, as the first German licensee, concluded a supply agreement with Ericsson amounting to 1.6b Euro to set up the UMTS network.
The year 2000 will go down in history as the company's most successful up to now: 4 million cellular subscribers, 892.000 preselection subscribers, 1,65 million steady internet users and a turnover of 4,6 b marks - an enormous growth of 90 percent.
In mid-2002 MobilCom will open the German UMTS market as the first multimedia network operator.
